Montgomery Story Comic Book

After the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) published a comic-book describing the boycott and Gandhi's campaign to liberate India from British colonialism. Bayard Rustin and other Fellowship of Reconciliation activists played important support roles during the bus boycott. They were instrumental in bringing to Montgomery their understanding of the strategy and tactics of Nonviolent Resistance, and adapting those methods to the needs of the southern struggle.

The comic book's author and artist are unknown, and the publication date was probably sometime in 1957 or 1958. Hundreds of thousands of copies were distributed throughout the South. Eventually, it was translated into other languages and distributed to various nations around the world.
