Example Leaflets & Flers
From the Grenada Freedom Movement
1966

With the exception of the "Support the Grenada Blackout" leaflet, most flyers from the Grenada Movement were printed on a cranky, old, mimeograph in a backroom at Bellflower Baptist Church. Leaflets were run off and then distributed by kids throughout the Black community on the day they were needed — which is why none of them have any dates.

The night before this flyer was distributed, a freedom rally at the Confederate War Memorial statue on the town green had been attacked by a large Klan mob.

This flyer was distributed after the local Grenada County Advocate ran a false story that the Blackout had been called off. Their trick failed, and the boycott continued.

After the schools were integrated, some white teachers and principals harassed and abused Black students in an effort to drive them out of school. This flyer refers to a case where a Black student was beaten by a school official.
