I was stationed in Hattiesburg during Freedom Summer of 1964, and am interested in getting in touch with other veterans who were in Hattiesburg. While there, I was one of the SNCC/COFO guests at a watermelon picnic hosted by Vernon Dahmer Sr, in Palmer's Crossing outside Hattiesburg. Mr. Dahmer was later killed by the KKK for his support of voter registration activity. I am considering funding a documentary about Mr. Dahmer. Anyone who would like to contribute an interview, or support for this effort, please contact me.
