Poems by LuLu Westbrook

I am one of the 32 young girls that was locked in the LEESBRG, GEORGIA STOCKADE for 45 days in 1963. The Documentary Titled "LuLu and The Girls Of Americus, Ga." tells my story. I helped and produced it. You can Google LuLu Westbrooks Griffin and check out the many Links to my story and my work. I have travelled many places such as Colleges, Schools and Universities sharing my story and life in Americus, Ga. I left there at the age of sixteen to Rochester, New York in 1966.

I have written a Teaching Tool, Titled "FREEDOM is NOT FREE!" I have written many poems and poetry about the Movement since.

There are many Newspapers, DVD interviews, etc. My story is also written in a copy of Essence Magazine dated June 2006, called "The Stolen Girls," by Donna Owens.

I am yet intrested in speaking with people today and especially the young peple. The story must be told.

Thanks, for this site

LuLu W.
