I taught at Tuskegee Institute 1964-67. My apartment offered R and R to SNCC workers traveling from Atlanta to Alabama and on to Mississippi. I worked with the student civil rights group TIAL (Tuskegee Institute Advancement League). Sammy Younge was my student and friend. My experiences there changed me forever. That beloved community remains deeply seared in my mind and heart.
