I produced the Freedom Riders, influenced the Sit-In protesters and the Supreme Court's decision in Boynton V. Virginia helped Congress pass the 1964 Public Accommodation Act.

Owing to the fact that the State of Alabama held up my license for 6 years I went to Chattanooga, Tennessee to practice law. There I successfully campaigned for my friend, Ralph Kelley, who successfully defeated the Mayor of the city in a mayoral election. He kept his promise to me and we desegregated the city two years before Congress passed the 1964 law.
