Cornelius Jerome "C.J" Jones became active in the Freedom Movement while a student at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. He became a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Commitee staff and worked on voting rights and building the Lowndes County Freedom Organization (LCFO). Later he moved to Mississippi where this interview took place.
