Christmas 1961 Diane went to jail in Crisfield, MD, with me, Peggy Dammond Preaceley, Angeline Butler, Bonnie Kilston, Reggie Robinson, and Bill Hanson. There were two other participants in our sit-in, two men from Baltimore CORE. She passed away this year.
The night of our arrest (we had come down to the Eastern Shore from Baltimore) was the beginning of SNCC's work with the long-time active Black community of Cambridge, MD and our relationships with the St. Clair family there, and Gloria Richardson Dandridge.
