Suzanne Maxson passed away January 12, 2019 at Newport, Oregon. A native of Oregon, Suzanne went to Mississippi after the 1964 Mississippi Summer Project with a friend of hers from the Project who had returned briefly to Oregon.
She worked in Rankin County for over a year and then returned to Oregon where she worked as a social worker in Oregon, Alaska and California.
Suzanne was committed to the Movement for the rest of her life after her experience in Mississippi.
She was pure in heart and will be missed.
