SNCC Veteran the Reverenc Willie Blue died at his home in Hernando, Mississippi on December 28, 2022 at the age of 83.

Rev. Blue became a SNCC Field Secretary in 1963 and was one of the founders of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. He worked with SNCC in voter registration, and served as an MFDP delegate to the National Democratic Convention Challenge in Atlantic City, NJ in August 1964. He was an active member of the Mississippi Veterans of the Civil Rights Movement.
