Discussion paper about race and the movement
by Members of SNCC's Atlanta Project
April 1966

The Atlanta Project began as the Julian Bond Re-election Campaign after the Georgia State Legislature refused to seat him because he endorsed SNCC's Anti-Vietnam War Statement. The Project was in existence from November of 1965 until early in 1967.

This paper was written as an internal SNCC document for discussion in March or April of 1966 and was an important document related to the rise of Black Power in SNCC. It was subsequently published by an array of organizations and has been excerpted or published in full in anthologies.
