A Civil Rights Education Summit
Honoring C.C. Bryant
June 21-23, 2006

The 2nd Annual Educators Summit on Teaching About the Civil Rights Movement (first held in Philadelphia, MS) is open to educators across the country. The summit will offer informative and engaging panel presentations, workshops, and a driving tour of historic local Civil Rights sites in historic McComb, Mississippi, as well as a reception and ceremony in honor of Civil Rights Movement veteran C.C. Bryant and other McComb Movement veterans. In addition to playing a pivotal role in the history of the Civil Rights Movement (brief history), McComb is significantly making the commitment to engage its public school staff in a study of institutionalized racism and the history/legacy of the Civil Rights Movement.
