The 40th Anniversary to Commemorate the Civil Rights Demonstrations, Inc. (40th ACCORD) and Steve Kirkland, Postmaster of St. Augustine, Florida, are co-sponsoring a Special Civil Rights Cancellation Ceremony on August 31st. This second-day of issue ceremony recognizes the United States Postal Service To Form A More Perfect Union Ten Civil Rights Commemorative Stamps and Honors the Heroes and Sheroes of the St. Augustine Civil Rights Movement. This Special Ceremony & the Postmark will honor those living and deceased who participated in this great movement led by Dr. Robert B. Hayling, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The 40th ACCORD, Inc. & the Postmaster of St. Augustine will have the Special Civil Rights Cancellation Ceremony, Wednesday, August 31, 2005, 10:00 A.M., at the St. Augustine Main Post Office, 99 King St. Refreshments will be served.

For a donation of $10, one may order a set of 8 stamped & cancelled commemorative collages, one envelope, and a program. Please make checks payable to: The 40th ACCORD, Inc. and mail to: P.O. Box 697, St. Augustine, FL 32085 to be received no later than Tuesday, August 30th.

Some of the Heroes/Sheroes of the 60's Movement will be on hand to celebrate this grand event such as Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Wright, Dr. Robert B. Hayling, Audrey Nell Edwards, Rev. Eugene Israel, and others.

A Dutch treat luncheon will be held at the Columbia Restaurant on St. George St. following the Cancellation and Ceremony. Limited Seating. Anyone wishing to attend must RSVP by calling Mrs. Mary Thomas at (904) 810-6884 no later than Monday, August 29, 2005.
