Throughout May: We Shall Overcome, a dramatic and musical tribute to the courageous struggle to secure the right to vote.
Presented by the Program in African American Culture
Join us for an inspiring look back 40 years, to the spring of 1965 when civil rights activists put their lives on the line to focus national attention on the need for voting rights. Through dramatic portrayals and music, we tell the story of the three marches in Selma, Alabama that helped to promote the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Sing with us as we celebrate their courage and commitment and share your thoughts about the meaning of this accomplishment.
