I am sending you a brief message to update you on Dr. Height's health.
I have known Dorothy Height for over 40 years and it was my privilege and honor last week to visit her several times at Howard University Hospital.
She is on the mend, although she is, indeed, 92 and a half years old. She is doing physical therapy, and her treatment has been superb. She seems now to be stabilized, and when I spoke with her personal assistant earlier today, she told me that Dr. Height hopes to go home today or tomorrow.
As we all know, Dorothy Height has extraordinary courage and tenacity. Her memory remains clearer, her mental faculties sharper, than anyone else I have ever known. With your prayers and God's help she will remain alive for years to come.
