On Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 7:00 P.M., Ben Chaney, the brother of slain Civil Rights Worker (James Earl Chaney) will speak at the Pittsburg United Methodist Church at 153 West Leland Road, Pittsburg, CA.
On Friday, April 16, 2004 at 3:00 P..M., at The Peace Center for Family Advancement (located at 66-101 Hammond Boulevard, Mecca, CA), Ben Chaney will hold a Press Conference to announce the details of a National Collaboration between The James Earl Chaney Foundation and Mecca Tent City to ensure that the 16,000 Migrant Farm Workers currently sleeping in the brush in Mecca and East Coachella Valley from February to July every year will have decent and affordable housing by the year 2005 in Riverside County.
