Announcing the first meeting for the North Carolina Triangle civil rights studies group! This is shaping up to be a very interesting and rewarding project involving a diverse group of people from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.
The meeting will be held on Friday, September 20, at 7 pm. It will take place at the John Hope Franklin Center at Duke University, 2204 Erwin Road (corner of Trent Dr. and Erwin Rd.), room number TBA. (If you need directions to the center, please go to www.duke.edu/web/jhfcenter/about/map.html for details as well as parking information.) Pizza will be served. Feel free to invite others to come along, but all who plan to attend should RSVP to Alisa at: ayh@duke.edu or by phone at (919) 732-8647 by September 15 so that we know how many people to expect.
The purpose of this meeting will be to strike a planning committee and establish the scope and timing of future group meetings. We look forward to seeing you all there!
(Please feel free to forward this e-mail to any interested colleagues and to post it on departmental listservs for faculty and graduate students, or other listservs that you may be on.)
