Dear friend,
Once in a blue moon, someone organizes an event that is so popular we all wonder that it hasn't happened sooner. The tribute to Charles Sherrod is such an event. It is titled Sherrod Tribute and "Reviewing Our Past to Chart Our Future."
People in the southwest Georgia and national arenas have responded immediately, warmly, and enthusiastically. The response, in short, has far outstripped the organizers' fundraising. We who honor our brother Sherrod, and all who respect his lifetime of keeping his hand on the freedom plough, have an opportunity to fill the funding gap.
I am writing to invite you to make a donation to help pay the printing cost of the weekend program. The organizers are printing a fold-out sheet/booklet which will unfold into a stunning (and I believe highly collectible) poster.
The unfunded printing cost remains over $1,400. Please make a generous contribution and mail it to:
Southwest Georgia Project for Community Education, Inc., is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt charitable organization under paragraph 501C3, making your contribution a tax deduction.
The Tribute web site is: Southwest Georgia Project .
If I may provide further information or motivation for you to attend if possible, and make a donation to help defray printing costs, let me know. And thanks for your continuing interest in the freedom movement in Southwest Georgia.
Sincerely,
Joan C. Browning
